In Memory of Randy Jones
Randy Jones was a San Diego legend. Two-time Cy Young Award winner. World Series Champion. A man who spent 40 years supporting charity golf in this community before deciding to put his name on a tournament of his own.
In 2012, Curtis Gandy brought Randy an idea scribbled on a napkin at Randy's restaurant. The concept was simple: invite only the winning teams from San Diego charity golf tournaments, give them scorekeepers so every score is legitimate, and send the winners to Pebble Beach on a private jet. Randy said yes in ten minutes.
The Randy Jones Invitational was born.
Randy passed away in 2026. The 2027 tournament is the first Memorial Tournament held in his honor. There will never be another first. The brands and teams that show up this year become part of that story forever.
