PLAY FOR CHARITY
Over the past 40 years, Randy Jones has supported and played in hundreds of charity golf events here in San Diego. In 2012, he made the decision to put his name on his own golf tournament with 3 goals in mind:
Goal 1: Involve as many local charities as possible, helping them raise awareness and dollars for their own charities.
Over the past 11 years there have been over 1,400 charities that have entered teams in Randy's Tournament. $240,000 dollars has been donated to the winners’ charities over the past 11 years. RJI has helped them all raise thousands more with the 1.4 Million Dollars in FREE golf donated to 16,000 golfers, representing 200+ local charities annually.
Goal 2: Find the top amateur foursome from all the San Diego charity golf tournaments played in San Diego, to achieve this, we knew there would be a need for scorekeepers & big prizes. (Golfers love this)!
The best of the best amateur teams has enjoyed this format for the past 11yrs. 11 Winners received $10,000 for the Charity and all 4 team members were flown in a private Jet to Pebble Beach to stay & Play Pebble)!
Goal 3: Create the best exposure opportunity ever offered to golf tournament sponsors in San Diego. We knew by having 1,100 golfers, representing over 200 Charities, over 10 days and keeping the price the same as a one-day tournament, we could achieve our 3rd Goal.
We did just that with the 1,100 golfers and the 8 days of tournaments each year, delivering to them the most amazing marketing and exposure ever offered by a golf tournament here in San Diego. (Sponsors have loved this format). (EDCO, Corky, Kaiser, Padres, Wells Fargo, Northrup Grumman, KIA, El Cajon Ford, Sycuan, Attention Getters are just a few of the sponsors).
Here are just a few of the ways Randy Jones and his team have impacted the San Diego community over the past several years.
